What is Xymbia?

We created Xymbia to help companies embrace decentralization and digitization. Xymbia builds tools to enable companies and remote workers to engage in trusted and open collaborations with each other and their customers. Xymbia is the most advanced open collaboration platform in the world. Okay, I’m sure you read that on the homepage and were hoping for a deeper explanation. Collaboration is the act of building or creating something with your community, team, or customers. Xymbia lets you find a person or a team to collaborate with, and it manages the project’s lifecycle from beginning to end.

How does it work?

Xymbia is a network for getting work done. You must create a verifiable digital identity to join the network and become a member. Verifiable identities are crucial to building trust in the network. Once you have a Xymbia ID, you can post work, join teams, and collaborate on building solutions. The system tracks the inputs and outputs of every collaborator and generates trust profiles that get attached to each ID in the system for future collaborations.

What are trust profiles, and how do they work?

Don’t worry. Trust profiling isn’t a star rating you may be familiar with on other platforms like Yelp. Trust on Xymbia is currency. Your trust profile enables your collaborators to assess your effectiveness and efficiency relative to the work and the other members of the team. It helps reduce the information asymmetry between collaborators and provides a signal indicating the probability of success for a given project. In short, trust profiles are a snapshot of your collaborations over time. You can use your trust profile as a tool to upskill yourself and increase your earning potential.

Who can use Xymbia?

Our vision for Xymbia is to power every type of collaboration under the sun. Xymbia for Members

Members join the network to get work done. The system allows members to invite professionals they previously worked with to the network, or they can source professionals for their projects from existing members on the platform. Professionals do the work and collaborate with customers on requirements and feedback. The system enables professionals to connect with other professional collaborators or invite collaborators they’ve previously worked with to their projects.

Example Collaboration

A software engineering professional may need to assemble a team to complete a project. Professionals may invite UX designers, frontend, backend, and database developers to join the collaboration. Each collaborator has their profile and a relative trust profile based on their role in the project. Trust profiles help professionals and customers identify and fill in any skills gaps in a collaboration to increase the chances of a successful outcome.

Corporations and teams are a natural collaboration. When companies and teams are small, it’s easier to assess team and individual skills. However, understanding workforce needs and abilities at scale is challenging. The challenge grows exponentially for organizations that partner or collaborate with external companies and customers.
